This is my new CD cover which I have created. Rather than photography, I have gone for the graphic approach.
I have created this using collage and scanning it into to photoshop, I have then worked over it digitally added relevent texts (Ben Howard) and images (The Wolves).
I have chosen other aspects from the song such as 'where you been hiding from the news' this made me use the newspapers with the wolves overlapped over as it appears as though the wolves are running from it.

I have portrayed my artists names in big capital letters in the centre of my design as part of a newspaper headline.
I did this as a headline as it blends in with the rest of the design so that it is not too pertruding, however it is still visible and gives a clear indication of the name of the artist on his album.

The background texture is a basic parchment texutre which is layered underneath the rest of my imagery. This is very basic as to not distract the viewers eyes from the main imagery. I have used a limited pallette of colours throughout this design; reason for this is I didn't feel the need to use bright colours to capture peoples attention as the imagery is strong enough. Conventionally, the 'indie' genre is stereotyped with a 'vintage' theme and I think I carry this out within my work.

This is the collage in which I orignally started my design from, even though most of the imagery here isn't relevent, I created a collage from random cuttings in a magazine and just pieced them together. As you can see, I have still used some of this in my design such as the newspaper cuttings and the moose, however the photograph of the boy in the wolf mask (the most relevent image) didn't work with the composition, therefore this was then when I incorperated the illustration of the wolf which is shown below.
